# RTSP playback

> Hand a stream to a player or recorder that expects RTSP.

Use RTSP egress when the next device is a player, a recorder, or a wall that already pulls RTSP. The ingest can be anything Vasl accepts. The egress is what that device knows how to open.

This is also how a camera that arrived over [RTSP ingest](/publish/rtsp), [NDI](/publish/ndi), or [SRT](/publish/srt) can leave toward a system that never learned WebRTC.
